Hospital Infanti Federico GómezI was waiting so long for having this opportunity. The feeling of being part of an amazing project and to have so exceptional professors and medical colleagues was outstanding. The organization was perfect, with clear instructions from the beginning to the end, and the hole staff was very nice and happy to help us anytime. It was also interesting the way they manage to promote teamwork and union between gynaecologist and paediatricians-neonatologists, to enhance maternal and infant health. It is important to understand both approaches because we both look for good outcomes for our patients.Diana Miriam Barrios BautistaOMI SEMINAR: Maternal and Infant Health 2023May 15-19 th , 2023

I may not see these cases in my hospital, but I will be able to keep them in mind if I ever face something similar.”

Hospital Infantil de Especialidades de ChihuahuaI enjoyed the great experience it is to live a Seminar in Salzburg, where upon arrival you feel the majesty of the place, the history behind it, the interpersonal relationships when living with colleagues from different countries. Taking classes in the Great Hall and receiving knowledge from world-class personalities in oncology and hematology, asking your questions and knowing that our questions are not minimized, on the contrary, it is the imperious thirst to answer and help, it was great. Knowing the city is something majestic where the view of the eastern Alps invites us to explore it, being a city divided by the Salzach River. And on its rainy afternoons, you are invited to have a coffee accompanied by the rich Sacher cake. Upon returning to Mexico, the commitment is greater, where the knowledge, networking with faculties and fellows breaks down our borders and leaves us wanting to return. Thank you very much AMSA for this great opportunity.Elianneth Rey HeloOMI SEMINAR: Pediatric Hematology and Oncology 2023May 7th – 13th, 2023

Katia RiveraOMI SEMINAR: Pulmonology 2023January 8th – 14th, 2023
Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias
"The seminar is a great opportunity to review the latest information on the most relevant, controversial, and debatable topics in Pulmonology, from the hands of world-renowned experts and opinion leaders on the topics discussed.
Meeting doctors from other countries, living with them and establishing friendships also allows you to get to know other cultures, and from now on you have a team with which you can discuss complex clinical cases and share relevant and innovative medical information.
The seminars are impeccably organized and all the staff, teachers, logistics and services within the school are very friendly; you feel very welcome and part of a team from the very beginning.
The city is beautiful, well organized, clean and easy to navigate in terms of mobility.
You return impressed by the quality of the seminar and how friendly the country is with its visitors.
An experience that regardless of the academic degree sows in you the need to rethink the way in which knowledge is transmitted, allows you to identify your points of improvement and can change the way you think about the processes you were already carrying out.
Undoubtedly a unique and enriching experience in all aspects." -
David TaffinderOMI SEMINAR: Bone and Joint Surgery 2023January 15tn – 21st, 2023
Hospital Angeles Valle Oriente MTY
"I have just returned from my bone and joint seminar, it was a much more interesting and important experience for my training than I expected.
Once started in the program, the topics covered are quite interesting since we talk about various pathologies that we see very frequently.
On the other hand, being able to share with colleagues from all over the world the various treatments that exist and the points of view of the same pathology according to the place in the world where the patient is cared for.
I really liked the presentation of cases, mainly because we received feedback on our treatment and got to know different ways of treating a pathology that we commonly treat.
I am very excited to be able to share this acquired knowledge with my colleagues and medical students with whom I collaborate on a daily basis.
I am very grateful to AMSA and OMI for allowing me to participate in this seminar and for having lived one of the most significant academic experiences of my life.
Thanks for everything! "

"The seminar was more than I expected. The topics that were discussed were extremely important for primary care. Another important aspect that needs to be mentioned, is the fact that most of the topics especially by Dr. Cohen, were very useful because psychiatric diseases are difficult to diagnose, treat and control. Dr. Viera and Dr. Ragsdale gave us and update of very common problems in the emergency room. Another aspect that I much enjoyed was the presentation by Dr. Herring on how to make effective presentations and Dr. Hoffman’s presentation about Long Covid was the most useful for me, because as a coincidence I’m doing my thesis about this specific disease. My favorite thing about the seminar was the workshop by Dr. Bynum and Dr. Cohen about Shame. As doctors, since we are students usually struggle with this emotion and never do anything about it and just bury it. As a summary I can say that I enjoyed every second of it. It’s a great opportunity to learn, make acquaintances, make friends and an honor to represent your country. Every moment I felt proud to represent Mexico and AMSA." -

It was amazing to be able to talk to people from so many countries and be able to compare how things work in their countries.
There really wasn’t a class in the entire seminar where I didn’t learn something new and amazing.
I loved the communication workshop, Dr. Johnson told us that she loves the structure and that if you have a solid base, the rest works well, I think like her and I like that they gave tips of how to structure in my thoughts, to be able to express myself better, in a more empathetic way and being able to communicate better with parents and patients, since I am in a subspeciality of pediatrics where having to give bad news is very common and I have not always done it in the best way, I am sure that now I will do so much better.
I can only say that I am very grateful for this opportunity.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! -

Thanks to the Seminar in Pediatric Palliative Care given by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
and with the support of AMSA, I have managed to improve my skills for care, management
and communication with my patients, now I will be able to develop improvements to our palliative
care service in the hospital.
"Brain no Drain" is one of the phrases that when I arrived at the seminar did not understand,
as the seminars progressed I realized how important it is to bring all the information to our country
and to be able to achieve an excellent quality service like the ones given by developed countries. " -

For the academic question, the faculties of both CHOP and the ones from Austria were excellent,
the seminars provided a better basis for the knowledge I already had and a lot of learning,
in addition to all the faculties were always in the best disposition to resolve doubts and learn from
our experience. At the end of every seminar you had the chance to reach any of the faculties
and ask all the questions.
We also had the opportunity each of the fellows to present a clinical case which allowed us
to share knowledge among our colleagues and learn different ways to achieve
good results in our patients.
Something that was also incredible to share with people from other countries and to know how
things work there, to make networking and create ties that probably in the future can help to have
more knowledge and work as a team worldwide.
It was definitely an experience that left me with great professional and personal growth. -

Tec de MonterreyIn early April 2023, I attended the Open Medical Institute's (OMI) Health Economic Evaluation (HEE) seminar in Salzburg (Austria), where I was impressed by the views of the snow-capped mountains and the charming old town. During the seminar, I was impressed by the potential impact of health technology assessment methods on healthcare decision making, and the relevance of these methods at the front line of care. Throughout the seminar, we had the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with colleagues from around the world. I found this experience to be incredibly effective and informative, as we had informed discussions about economic evaluation terms and their relevance to health. In conclusion, attending the Open Medical Institute seminar was an experience that changed the way I think about health decision-making and will have a positive impact on my academic activities in my country. I am very grateful to my colleagues, to OMI and to AMSA and I hope to replicate this seminar in Mexico soon.Dr. Daniel Bernal SerranoOMI SEMINAR: Economic Evaluation in Healthcare 2023April 2nd – 8th, 2023
